Description
Knowledge of neurovascular anatomical variants and their embryological precursors is clinically relevant to the performance of neurosurgical operations and endovascular procedures. This work sought to clarify the embryological bases and clinical implications of a number of neurovascular anatomical anomalies through analyses of clinical case series. This work emphasized criteria for distinguishing normal variations from pathological conditions, and introduced novel explanations for rare variants of the intracranial arterial system.
